Bahria project of Karachi is only affordable for the elite class and the others should not think or dream to live to avoid economical problems & mental stress.
I don’t know what is happening but here is my opinion. It is expensive to maintain Bahria Town with still 90% of it empty and not generating constant revenue. Maintenance charges are levied everywhere in the world in form of different taxes (council tax for example). Somebody has to pay for roads, cleaning, gardening, etc. However, the rate is probably much higher now than needed because maybe Bahria is using all possible avenues to raise money for their payments towards the land cost imposed in 2018 (460Billion I think). The downside is that people would stop moving to Bahria or even start moving out of Bahria and in the end long-term revenues of BTK would suffer. Hope they consider this and reduce it to some reasonable rate.
Please try to understand the macroeconomic condition of the country and the world at large. If price hikes are above the rate of inflation then you have a point. I hope you know mafias homeowners associations all over Karachi.
Management should consult the residents before implementing the new charges, all the residents should NOT pay the overcharges unless a panel of residents sit with the management and decide the correct charges, it should be a two-way street, and management should not behave like gangsters do you want to end up loosing all of your residents?
